Cool Site of the Week

Guided online tours of the Cariboo Chilcotin

HEY IT'S about time someone in the Cariboo Chilcotin did more than take notice of the great websites to be found promoting everything from tourism destinations to businesses in the region.

And we at PennyWiser are that someone(s). So we've decided to hand out awards to deserving websites and feature them on our home page and catalogued here.

The who's who guide to the Cariboo Chilcotin internet world can be found at the Cariboo Chilcotin Web Directory.

Nothing fancy here, no amazing graphics, pop-up windows or heady flash content, just a straight text guide to Cariboo Chilcotin Websites.

Arranged in subject categories, the nice thing about the directory (other than it loads fast, being almost all text) is it is the most complete guide available. In operation for seven years it is put together independently - meaning it is not a guide to an isp or webdesigner's personal best.

Do you know of a Cariboo Chilcotin website deserving of PennyWiser's Cool Site of the Week award?

There are two way's you can nominate it. One is by e-mailing us at advertise@pennywiser.com or submitting it to the Cariboo Chilcotin Web Directory. We will review the website and if it qualifies give it an online review and the snazzy Cool Site of the Week award.

Past Winners

• The first site to receive the Cariboo Chilcotin Cool Site of the Week award was the Horsefly Community Website. It contains all the elements that make a great website - graphically attractive, easy navigation, photographs, and a homey feel to it that makes you want to prowl the virtual community.

• In the Cariboo Chilcotin, history is never very far from us. It's contained in the old disused farm buildings, abandoned prospector or trapper's cabins. And on the Internet, it's as close as the 108 Heritage Site. Lovingly designed, there are photos and real sense of history that one would expect a difficult transition from the actual 108 Heritage Site into its cyberspace reflection.
