Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Williams Lake's
8th Annual 79.9km Cycle to Gavin Lake
   September 9, 2000

Is it possible to enter as a relay team instead of as a single rider? Most definitely! Entering a relay team is a great way to become involved without having to ride the full 79.9 km. Each team is made up of a maximum six people. Five take turns cycling between designated checkpoints and there is a driver to transport the riders. The only fee to the driver is the $20 registration. There are also exclusive prizes awarded to relay teams.

WaveWhere does the money raised through the tour go? All of the funds raised from this event stay in Williams Lake to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters (BBBS) - a registered non profit organization dedicated to matching caring adults with children who require additional companionship to enhance their opportunities for personal development. BBBS raise the majority of their operating budget through activities and events such as the Tour de Cariboo.

Do I have to be an experienced cyclist to participate? No, not necessarily! In previous years, we have had riders of all different levels participating - from beginner to advanced. The event is not a race, it is designed for riders to go at their own pace. As with any event of this magnitude, it is advised to prepare yourself with appropriate training prior to the event!

What does my $20 registration fee cover? The registration fee covers all refreshment stations, snacks, lunch, an excellent dinner, accommodations at Gavin Lake, breakfast, a chance at some great prizes, and a souvenir t-shirt.
